The way each of us approaches the table all too often reveals an absence of pleasure.
Naturally, I am not referring here to haute cuisine or the elaborate meals prepared for special occasions;
I am speaking of the everyday—the routine that sustains us, for better or worse—
and the recurring act of dining, which deserves to be curated with care so that we might truly feel at ease.

I will spare you my thoughts on what goes onto our plates
—not because I lack opinions, but because that is not my field.
In another life, I focused on the vessels themselves, curating a collection of tableware.

Yet, in the end, it is the wrought-iron table bases that have endured
through all the twists and turns of our personal history
—dining tables, coffee tables, console tables…
it is here, in these pieces, that our unique character now finds its fullest expression.
