It all started with a collection of heterogeneous texts, written at different times and for different reasons, to which were

THE BOOK:

The common thread chosen by Agnès Emery to illustrate her long artistic epic in a book is that of the exhilarating impact of colours in re-enchanting living spaces, in a style delicately balanced between refinement and fantasy.

Her range of colours is inspired by landscapes and travels, but also by the painting explored in museums and books. The tiles and furniture she designs, produces and distributes have a strong identity, the imperfections offered by artisanal production creating surprises and poetry. The six fascicules, together in one case, are set out according to her emblematic colours. They can also be purchased separately.

They show, in more than 616 pages mainly illustrated using her own photographs, numerous propositions that she imagines to present her work. These six fascicules reveal to us unusual images that invite the unexpected, which is so rare yet so necessary. The original texts, some written at different moments in her adventure, evoke the ideas underpinning her work or the places that have inspired her.

THE AUTHOR:

Having graduated in architecture in 1971, and feeling too restricted by the constraints of the modernist style, Agnès Emery chose to go into building renovation. But she didn’t find materials that suited her for the projects on the market, so she decided to create them and then to sell them. She offered her creations in a first boutique opened in Brussels in 1993, and so Emery&Cie was born. The Paris shop would follow, then a small showroom housed by Retrouvius in London. In addition, a very extensive website presents her products and opens her up to a more international customer base.
